Applium opens a new division dedicated to placing freelance SAP profiles

In addition to its long-standing activities with salaried employees, Applium is announcing the creation of a Pole dedicated to managing relations with freelancers.

Finding a consultant in a shortage market

Around the world, S/4HANA migration and business process digitalization projects are placing heavy demands on SAP consultants. In France, an SAP study conducted in 2022 points to a shortfall of 3,000 SAP consultants to meet demand over the next few years.

Bertrand Dalaison, Applium Associate Director, comments on this finding: ” The figure of 3,000 missing consultants is probably less than the reality. And it’s likely that this shortage will be felt until 2028/2030, with a peak we estimate between 2024 and 2025. “.

In this context of sustained shortage, our ability as an SAP integrator to work effectively with the thousands of independent SAP consultants present in France (and Europe), in addition to our 130 salaried consultants, had become critical.

” Applium has been working with independent SAP consultants for many years, to reinforce our teams for the projects we run, but also as part of our TMA contracts. It’s also a good way of accessing rare expertise,” confirms Alix Ponsada, Applium Associate Director.

Exceeding an average of 100 independent consultants by 2024

The creation of the ” Placement SAP ” division is aimed at structuring and industrializing this activity in order to significantly increase capacity. The ambition is to move from an average of 25 independent consultants placed in 2022, to an average of over 100 consultants by 2024.

The pole’s primary mission is to help SAP customers match the right profiles with their needs. ” Of course, to achieve this goal, we’ll be offering our freelance search and placement services well beyond our historical customers ” confirms David Cairat.
