Applium sets up in Portugal to support growth

Applium, the French SAP solutions integration specialist, takes a new step in its development and opens a subsidiary in Portugal. After two successful years, Applium is now looking to the international market, and has chosen Lisbon as its gateway.

Lisbon: a strategic decision

“Several destinations were considered, but the choice quickly came down to Portugal. Less than 3 hours’ flight from Paris, Portugal boasts a large ecosystem of experienced SAP consultants and an excellent higher education system. The level of proficiency in English is remarkable, and French remains an important language”, explains Alix Ponsada, Applium’s Managing Director.

A clear objective: to meet the needs of French companies

The opening of this Portuguese subsidiary is aimed above all at strengthening the teams dedicated to SAP projects and Third-Party Application Maintenance (TMA) for Applium’s French customers. Applium Portugal’s functional and technical consultants will contribute their expertise to support these customers in their SAP S/4HANA migration projects and the digitization of their business processes. Bertrand Dalaison, President of Applium, comments, “Our first objective is to better serve our 80 SAP customers in France. In 2022, despite the arrival of more than 30 new employees, we have had to postpone several customer projects, which is not satisfactory. The French company does not rule out the possibility of offering its services to Portuguese SAP customers in the future.

Baptiste Gonçalves takes the reins at Applium Lisbon

Baptiste Gonçalves has been chosen to head Applium’s Portuguese subsidiary. With solid experience as a consultant, project manager and service manager with major SAP integrators in France and Portugal, Baptiste brings invaluable expertise to the team. The Applium team is delighted with this new stage in its expansion and wishes Baptiste every success. All the Applium France teams are mobilized to support him in this international adventure. David Cairat, Executive Vice President, concludes: “We don’t rule out that this first international experience will lead to others in the near future, no doubt outside Europe”.
